Can copper indexing washers be used to get plugs properly indexed? Anyone ever heard of this being done with outboards? Thanks.

Not recommended on the Evinrudes.
Hurts once, but I buy 12 the first time, when I only need 6. Then in the next year(s), or (50) hours, I just buy 6, so far it has been working for me.
Cool. Thanks. Yeah I seen it online and was just wondering. Thanks again.

Adding copper washers is definitely not a recommended procedure
Not only does an additional washer move the spark plug gap up and away from the edge of the fuel spray plume inside the combustion chamber but copper washers against an aluminum cylinder head is a prime place for dissimilar metal corrosion which could eventually require the replacement of the cylinder head. Copper and aluminum form a battery (voltage potential) when moisture is involved - especially salt water.
Any type of washer between the cylinder head and spark plug also affects the heat transfer from one to the other which may affect plug life.
