Went out on the lake today...water temp was 62-65...grass has died of in most areas and didn't find much in the way of bait balls or minnows anywhere. Boated two smallmouth in 5 hrs, probably by luck. What happened to Oneida lake. Used to fan cast a spinnerbait on any shoal or rocky flat and catch them all day. That place sucks now...4 yr been the same, walley bite good and thats all....just better options now.
What options would u recommend, looking to hit NY for smallies later this month...have only fishes Oneida and Lake Ontario (Henderson Bay)...

Mohawk river out of schoharie crossing, Fonda ny...fish between locks 12 and 13. Great smallmouth fishing in the fall. Otsego lake in cooperstown is another solid option...town launch in cooperstown.
