2019 200 HO G2 AH model water flow question

    I have H200HLAH ,
I have a new water pump , motor is pumping pressure 7 psi at Idle.
I see water comming from the tell tail good ,
BUT I also notice that the hole above the tell tail I believe is the Exhaust has water comming out to like spitting at idle .
I also notice water temp when running drops from 140 warm up temp back to 119 deg after short run in 60 deg water.
Does any of this sound normal?
Engine runs fine no code yet. 44 hrs.

Engine running cooler at higher speeds indicates the pressure relief valve functions as intended and properly.

    That's normal.

I remember mine running pretty cool when water temps are low. I've seen numbers like you posted. If you run it longer I bet it goes back up into the 140s-150s.

Bighare... I know I sound like a nervous Nellie and thanks for your time, but is it ok that I'm seeing water pressures up to 50 PSI at WOT after having my water pump replaced. I know the water pressure relief valve opens at 28 PSI allowing water to flow into the exhaust housing but the manual isn't clear if that should cause the water pressure to decrease. Manual states normal pressures are above 28 wot but doesn't list a max. Is 50 OK . Digital sensor.

Sure. No problem. I appreciate the help.
Don't know if this matters but when they did the water pump they installed these high flow screens

40 psi has been seen a few times on different boats. Yes it is possible to see 50psi with the high flow screens. A couple things to remember. The flow potential of water out is unchanged. The flow of water in has been increased. So pressure will increase. Is this common in other similar engines and applications? There is not enough field reports to know for sure.

Let’s remember the introduction and shipment to market of the 250HO AK model was sometime after late September 2019. Consider the time passing before installations started. Then consider the COVID shut downs and BRP layoffs a few months later in March. There was no Evinrude technical support to confirm or validate.

Is 50 psi at WOT acceptable? - for sure IMHO. Will BRP write any information to confirm or refute? Don’t bet on it.

Thanks so much for the reassurance. I very much appreciate your input. Maybe just out of curiosity, I will swap out the high flow screens with the regular ones just to see how it affects the pressure. Or maybe I'll just go fishing and forget about it.

More water the better. The screens are easy to swap to see any change so it is your choice. I would just go fishing because isn’t that what is all about anyway......

I don't have a G2 but I do have some experience with changing inlets on my E150HSLAAB. I installed a side scan transducer that interrupted water flow at high speed and would get an occasional hot alarm when making long wide turns. In a straight line I rarely had an issue. For my motor there is 4 sizes of screens. I ordered the largest .410 and felt like I had too much pressure. I could peg a 50 PSI gauge at certain rpm but ran 40+ most of the time. I then ordered the .160 and my psi was perfect 30-32 PSI most of the time at WOT and rarely drops below 30. My I Command gauge shows my motor idling around 160 and cools to 140 when up on plane...I have noticed my motor temps might be a few degrees higher or lower pending water temperature and air temperature but that is to be expected.
