Yes, top water intake holes are plugged. My secondary water intake is still 75% on the drawing board. It'll be a Transom mounted pickup, very similar to the Bob's Machine unit but with my own spin on it. I have to machine the last few pieces on my mill, then it's onto me Tig Welding it all up. Pics coming when it's done.

    FUSTRATION:
The act of ordering parts from Mercury Marine that you need real bad but being told you're gonna have a "LONG"
wait before you see them !

That's my current state of progress, as it has come to a full halt waiting on parts.

Guess that's why it's my Winter Project, cause it'll take all winter to get parts.........

12-15-20, Parts are starting to trickle onto my front door once again but it's still sporadic at best. Got the lower cowl seals and finally got the Powerhead onto the Mid. Did I ever mention how freak'n hard it is to get a pair of lower cowls back on a new set of seals..... Tried everything from soapy water to heating the seals up, finally used straight Dawn Dish Soap brushed into the seal lips...., wow what a job that was. New top cowl seals installed as well.

Shift & Throttle cables finally measured out and ordered, then I'll be able to put the rigging hose on and start working on wiring "EVERYTHING"

The SeaStar Steering Cylinder presented a small problem as well, need to lengthen the tiller arm and move the bolt hole for the SeaStar bolt location FWD about 2 1/4" in order for the cylinder hoses not to raise up to high when in full turn mode Port and Starboard as contact with the rigging hose would be a problem bending the hoses.......always something to throw me off track........

After a little down time waiting on parts, I did some measuring and opt'd to run a SportMaster lower gear case vs an XR6 coned gear case and transom mount low water pick up. I had concerns on clearance with the SportMaster drive tucked fully in, but it'll clear even turned hard Port & Starboard fully tucked in as well as any vertical setting on the J/Plate. Still need to pull the shaft out of the Sporty and have it shortened for the 15" mid.

So here's my current status on the build.....

Giant Ambitions, But Making Baby Steps !

That's a perfect description of my progress Michael.... I've got many more cold months ahead of me to finish her up....

Here she is with the new Opti Cowl on. There's a reason for the "PRO XS" decal, it's a little play on words but I thought it was fitting since the motor and allot of the parts for the boat were "PRO"vided from other peoples "XS" (excess) boat parts from their boats that I bought along the way.

That Opti Cowl makes that thing look "HUGE"..

Once the motor is completely rigged/wired, it's on to the cockpit wiring and finish the SeaStar helm & blinker switches, gauges, etc, etc, etc...................
What a mess that is as you can see. You'll notice that black square in the fiberglass below the 2 gauges (water pressure & Jack Plate Height), a USB/Bluetooth radio, I love my tunes when I'm out in the boat so that was a must do project.
