GPS removal from console dash??

I have an 8" HDS unit I would like to remove from my dash so I can upgrade to a 12" unit. Any tips on how to get the old unit out?? 2011 Bassport Pro Elite. I see the 4 screws when I am underneath the console but I cant see any screw heads from the steering wheel side. Any tips will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

If I recall, there is a trim piece that runs all the way around the unit. Snap that out and you should see the screw heads.

Remove the trim piece to access the screws/bolts.

Yup, on the HDS units that trim piece has two sided tape holding it on besides the small tabs around the perimeter. So when you get the tabs popped up and it still does not come off it is the tape holding it on. Work at it delicately or use a very thin exacto blade to get under the bezel once it is open far enough. Working areund all of the tabs you may get one area that is a bit open to work from.

Thanks guys. I got it out. Now, am I correct in thinking I read that Allison made a bracket so I can fit a 12" Lowrance at the console?
