    Talon 8' vs 10', pics?

I'm torn between the 8 footers vs 10 footers.
Obviously, the extra 2 feet is better but man those extra 8inches in height are killing me. 41" length vs 49" length. I think the 10s wont clear a 7' foot garage right? The tilt brackets will do that job, although it would be nice to not tilt them to park the boat.

If you have pics of your bird with either 8s or 10s please post them here. I'd really appreciate it. I want to see how much they go over the cowling when the motor is tilted down and how it looks.

Lastly, can somebody tell me the distance from the rear bumper rail to the outside edge of the talon? I'm trying to see how far it sticks out behind the boat.. Making sure I'm not going to have garage parking issues.
any other advice would be much appreciated as well. :)

    thanks,
    steph

The height/length from 8-10 really isn't an issue since they usually start around 4" above the bottom of the boat to begin with...I have 12ft and mine aren't that much higher than the cowling

Thanks Jav. Those covers you have are really nice. Not sure what you meant with them starting 4" above the bottom. Are you referring to how high they're placed/installed... I did see that the height was adjustable but I'm not sure what the proper installation height is.

When you have moment can you measure the distance between the rubber railing and the exterior edge for the talon... just straight back. I'd like to know how far they stick out back.

    thanks for your help

Yes sir, from the bottom of the hull mine are about 4" above that. On the set back, I had to bring them in as they were grabbing water when set back, I have just enough room to get my hand between the mount and the rub rail with a little wiggle room. In that pic, my JP is on 2 (out of six) I think so its pretty far down. Also there is an adjustment on the Talons themselves, and mine are as high as they can go..There is a little lock nut thing that's in the Talon side slit...

I'd want the tilt brackets to give me another option for troubleshooting/cleaning (troubleshooting as in if all else fails including the nut to manually raise it you can tilt it and power up to make weigh in )

The tilt brackets are nice for bending them over and extending the poles out to clean, but it only takes a few mins to take them off and lay them down if you don't have the tilts. Im def glad I have them though.

Thanks to all for responding. I think I'm set on the 10s with tilt brackets...

Just need to get some measurements to see how it will clear in my garage.
