    Map share between Gen 2 & 3

Had an issue with my G3 HDS12 not reading my Navionics Platinum card. I have G2 up front and they are connected with nmea. I remember reading a thread that they could share the map? My G2 picked up the card, but I could not find in settings where to be able to share it on the G3. I had some electronic spray cleaner in the truck and gave the card reader a quick hit with it, and it started reading the card again but wanted to know in case it ever happens again.

A Gen 2 non-Touch will have to be updated to share maps. Map cards will not share over NMEA. You have to have Ethernet. Once you have Ethernet, there is no setting, just go to the unit without the card in it, go to the Map page and under Source select Navionics.

Ty, I unhooked my Ethernet when I installed the Ghost. Im going to be getting a new Carbon 12 next month and doing away with the G2 all together. At least I have it reading for now.

To realize full functionality of units, they really need both NMEA and Ethernet.
