    Skeg question

I bumped into the boat ramp due to some high wind the other night. I checked out the skeg it appears to have a slight curve to it. I don’t believe I hit it that hard. I have a 2018 250Etec ho. I ha e seen some things online where some say they are curved and well I am not sure. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The curve is built into the skeg on the Etec.

this would be incorrect if the gearcase is the magnum SLE.
Side bends in the skeg may or may not have noticeable effect on steering and drivability based on the speed of the boat.
Many times the skeg can be straightened. This takes time and patience. Remember you are working with aluminum. As a friend (who has done this many many times) told me the process takes small taps with a hammer and a back hammer to reposition the metal. He compared this to “Rearranging the molecules”. Never hit big and start away from the tail end of the bend. The metal needs time to reset.
