Question Flow-Rite livewell help 08 Cougar

I am in the process of changing the cable connected to my livewell actuator as the metal wire broke off the actuator dial.

When would it be indicated to change the auto valve in the bilge area?

Is there an easy way to install the end into the valve without disconnecting from hoses?
Do I need the V2 or V3 valve?

    Thanks!

If you want to replace the valve, you want the V2, Rear Barb. (Cable attaches from direction of the transom.) Flow-rite has drawings on the site on how to hook up the cable. You can replace the cable without removing hoses.

I completed the cable change last night. Thanks for the tips!

For future reference for anyone else doing this, I had to remove my oil reservoir bracket that spans the bilge, and then loosen the valve nut that connects it to the 90 degree bracket in the bottom of the bilge area.

There's no way to access the bracket that holds the cable in place without releasing the valve from the bracket.

I also coat any wires that I'm running with Dawn dish soap. It helps it slide really well past all of the other wires and doesnt do any harm to existing wiring.

Just thought I'd post my experience.

    Thanks!
