    Need to Pull a Skier - Tr20 - 225 EFI

My 10 year old son is just getting into skiing and the jet ski doesn’t seem to cut it for his learning needs. I’m hoping my Tr20/225 EFI can be re-Prop’d to give him a more predictable hole shot. Right now, though, my current setup won’t work at all.

With a 26p Tempest tuned by Croxton, 3 vents and added cup, my hole shot is a little on the slower side fully loaded (320 lbs batteries, dual power poles, 1/2 tank fuel), boat stabilizes up on plane around 40-42 and top speed is around 73-74 at 5850 rpms. That is also with a 12” slidemaster mechanical running about 2.5” below pad.

My goal is to bring my hole shot time down drastically to almost flat and I’d like to pull him between 28-35 mph with the bow flat on plane if possible.

Do y’all have any recommendations on if I can make this happen? I’d prefer not to pull the 4 AGM batteries out or adjust my manual jackplate each time we want to ski. I also realize I need to be in a 4 blade. I’m thinking either a 24 or 25 Trophy or maybe Bravo but I’m not familiar with these. Please let me know what y’all think and thanks I’m advance!

23P High 5 is my guess. Do you have a ski pole or a Y harness? You could add a CB foil too.

couldnt you go with a really small 4 or 5 blade like a 19-21P just for water sports since you arent concerned with top end?

I'd get a 24P Bravo1 XS or Marks Razor4 XL... And adjust PVS holes to hit 3800 rpms on holeshot.

Thanks! Top end wouldn’t be a concern too much as long as I could still manage 50-55. We just ski on a small minnesota lake so putting around to get to the fishing holes won’t be too bad. Because I just have a manual jack plate and my trolling batteries are 80lbs a piece, those I wouldn’t want to change too much.

Getting into the 4+ blade props and having it tuned, we’re talking some real money haha so I want to do the research instead of trying a lot of possibilities. Thank y’all for all the options and ideas
