I’d like to buy a compressor to keep around just to fill trailer tires. What do you all recommend?

I'm in the market for one as well. Just sold an old Emglo that I had for like 15 years.

I have a 30 Gallon Husky 175psi that has worked flawlessly for 4 years so far, and I use it for a lot more then just inflating tires.
If you are inflating tires just about any compressor will do. If you thnk you are going to run tools, which is less and less likely with the way battery tools have progressed, get one that uses oil for lubrication. Oil less compressors are noisy. If you are wanting something to throw in the back of the truck and you cannot keep it upright then oil less is the way to go but it comes at the expense of noise.
Get one with the biggest tank you can get, the small 1 gal. compressors are ok if your going to inflate a pool toy but do not have the volume to fill even a lawn mower tire in under 10 minutes.
The HBF one is plenty for tires. Anything around 1.0 cfm or so will fill a car or reasonable size truck tire in a few minutes. Keep one like the above in the truck and run it on an inverter in an emergency.
If you are just filling tires you may want to look at the Milwaukee M12 Compact Tire Inflator. You set the pressure and it shuts off automatically when it reaches that pressure. I carry it in my truck. It works great.
I buy California Air brand... They are great, quiet, but expensive.

The Harbor Frights get good reviews. I have one and no complaints.

If your going to buy a compressor just consider that you may decide later on to buy some air tools like a impact wrench for lug nuts or what ever else you may come up with so i'd look for at least a 15 gal.
If you're just filling tires, you don't need a tank. A viair pump is all you need. Won't take up near as much room in the vehicle, either (assuming you're going to take it with you on the road).
For just topping up low tires, absolutely anything will do (I have a Ryobi 1+ to keep tires topped up...mostly on the ATV). You'll need a lot more CFM if you have to seat a bead on a completely flat tire though (think Bead Blaster or starting fluid). I've got three 120v compressors for construction and even they don't flow enough air.
I use a little Porter 6 gallon pancake.
I would get something on wheels as those hand carried models can be quite heavy if having to walk any distance at all. Almost like carrying around a 5 gallon bucket of water.

Yeah I didn't think that purchase thru very well. I might sell the one I have and get a wheeled one anyway. This way I can keep the hose attached to it and coil it around the handle.

If you are wanting something just to air up your tires, this one has worked well for me. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-12...120B/303815464
It will run off a 110 volt house outlet or 12 volt vehicle battery. I just keep
it behind my back seat in the truck. You can program the psi you want and it will cut off automatically.
I also bought a battery Ryobi inflator similar to the Husky.

They have made a few changes on the newer model but is still basically the same as the one I have. I got it because I have a ton of battery operated Ryobi tools and high capacity batteries. I mostly use it now because I don’t have to mess with any cords. I just program the psi and let it go. It also works very well. I throw it in the truck when I go on trips and I use it top off my tires before trips.
Have a Blessed Day,
Mike
I got the Harbor Freight oil-less compressor last year to keep at my storage and it works fine. $39.00 out the door with their coupon. It takes a few ramp ups to get all 4 tires full if they are down a bit. But pretty much plug it in and a few minutes later airing up tires. It won't do much else, but that is what I got it for and the price is less than most hand pumps...
