None with a jig. Now if you make chatterbaits with a split ring between the hook and blade, the flat eye is a must.

Vertical eye seem to come through grass a little better where the horizontal seems to get through wood and rocks with less hangups

Hook up percentage is much higher with a horizontal eye.

There's less tendancy for a horizontal eye to roll on it's side when you set the hook. Only vertical eye jig I use is a swim jig.
