    G54UHD-TM Mounting options Hull

I am at the point of my install where I need to mount the G54UHD-TM. I realize having a separate 2D is the way to go for on pad and that is what I am coming from. Now I am back to a All in One.

So I am either thinking of mounting next to JP or down by the drain plug. I have a Ranger with a pretty big built in set back.

The 1 picture shows the current Side scan (Lowrance). Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

If your not planning on having the 2d for running, why not put it on a bracket on the jackplate vs drilling more holes in your boat????

I thought about and did see the bracket method on the JP. However, if there is a way for me to some how keep the 2D at speed (without a separate 2d ducer) that would be great.

The option above the drain plug would still not give you a 2d reading. The bottom of ducer would need to be level with pad of boat (in contact with water at all times).

Is that just for this All in one model?

My old 2d ducer was in the battery compartment.

I am a Troglodyte but figured this one out.
Put the Sidescan on the jackplate,,,,, Y connector and the 2D shoot through in the bilge.
No way you are gonna get decent side or down view AND depth on plane otherwise.

I am looking at mounting on the bottom of the jack plate. I do have a hole shot plate that would work out I think. Any issues here you think? Its a shame the bracket is plastic. Seems like it is going to rip off no matter where I put it. Get hit by a log, ect.

Not concerned with 2d on plane anymore.

Not trying to beat this to death. Just trying to figure out the optimal position.

I do like the jackplate mouting.....i dont see any issues as there are lots of ducers mounted there including mine. I think it would be fine with the plastic bracket but there are a few options to replace the plastic bracket.
