Replaced Damaged Transducer - Depth Now Flashes When on Plane

This is strange. We idled over a log and tore off the transducer. GPS still worked fine. We purchased and installed a new transducer and it works perfectly at idle and low speed. But put the boat up on plane and the last number flashes continuously. Oddly, I looked over the other day when running full out and saw the depth operating perfectly at 61mph. So, is this the new transducer or do we have another issue? It did revert to the flashing malfunction. Before, the original equipment operated as new. BTW, this is a 5 Elite HDI. Speed, and GPS work fine. The other things is the unit sometimes goes black (shuts off) randomly.... when running. Had this unit mounted for a few years and it always ran great in all aspects. Now, with the new transducer - not so good except GPS & Speed ... I don't know about temp.
