    Bow trim switch

    2007 200 Elite

The "up trim" button on my bow is not longer working. It does not give you the positive tactile feel when you push it compared to other buttons on the switch panel. No faint "click" sound when depressed either.

Anyone have this issue or know how to fix it. Hoping to buy a part for it vs. replace the whole panel....

    Thanks in advance!!!!

Pull the panel and replace the switch at any marine shop you need a more tactile momentary on-off-on switch about $12

The bow panel with the trim buttons is a touchpad setup isn't it ?

Yes. It is a touchpad Megalink product.

I had some time last night to take a closer look.

Seems that you need to replace the entire touchpad, which is unfortunate because of the Megalink issues (limited supply, failure issues).

Attached are images for reference. I am hoping I can find this part. Going to call C and O and see what they might have. Keeping my fingers crossed.....

the previous owner of my 210 replaced the helms main panel with rocker switches and a fuse box. But they never replaced the front bow panel controls. I have PM'ed Reggie to see what I need to replace the front bow controls with new rocker switches, and if I can use the existing wire harness or not.
If he gets back to me and I can get these changed out, you can have my old controls for price of shipping. But I do not even know if it works or not.

    Update: FIXED

Since the button was not working, I decided to open it up from the underside edge with a sharp razor blade (approx. 1/4 was not cut in reference for reassembly purpose). Turns out that the button fell off the circuit board. All I did was put the button back on it making sure the metal disk/plunger was under it. Squeezed the metal tab tight and placed the rubber cover back on with silicone. Button works great and had the click sound like all others.

Time spend on project: 45 mins.

Hope this helps anyone that may have this issue. Feel free to contact me if you have questions. Pics attached for reference.

bma, you are a brave man ! That is really great! I have one that failed and I wanted to open it up to take a peek but didn't have the courage. Luckily I had a spare but I may just do some surgery on my old one. Thanks for your bravery and pics !
