I haven't fished a tournament in three years, but was planning to get back into them next year. However, I'm going to try and make this one. Looking forward to it.

I’m from the west side of the state so this lake is unfamiliar to me. I Googled it, is it true the speed limit is only 10 mph? If so how does that work at take off? Lol

Yes the whole lake has a 10 mph speed limit. When I fished a tournament there we just did a shotgun start but we had under 20 boats.

That is 100% true. The lake has a speed limit of 10 mph. As for how do things work at blast off, just imagine 20 plus boats plowing their way to their first spot, bobbing in the wake of other boats...all with their bows in the air.
The phrase, "that's not a high speed chase, that's a low speed follow" applies very well to "blast off" at Kent lake tournaments.
