    Expride 7’11 XH casting

For those of you who have this rod will it be good for smaller swimbaits ? Small glide baits , big topwaters etc? Is it able to fish baits a little bigger than the 3oz max rating ?

    thanks a bunch !

I recently got this rod for punching and don't have that much time on it. I can't speak to how it handles baits over three oz. But, I will say that I was expecting a more moderate action since they call it mod fast. In my opinion it is more of a fast action.

So it’s pretty stout I assume, maybe not aimed toward swimbaits that much

I also have this rod but only used it for flipping and punching 1 oz so far, it definitely is not moderate, stiffer than what I was expecting.

My top two choices for a 7’11 XH were the Expride and Kistler Helium 3. I have the Kistler Helium 3 and it has more of that moderate action you are likely looking for. I would recommend it highly. The Kistler likely does not balance as well as the Expride, but it’s a 7’11” XH and used for baits in excess of 1 oz, not sure balance is that big of a deal at that point.
