I’m looking at buying a new to me Ranger. It has a 2014 Evinrude Etec 250HO with 650 hours on it. It has a new powerhead and computer with 67 hours. They wanted $20,000 for the 2014 Ranger with that engine. Good buy? Stay away? Looking for advice.

I'm gonna assume a Z520 or Z521. If I found a 2014 Ranger Z520/1 for $20k and it was in decent shape....It would be in my garage! My guess the boat has some weathering and some wear and tear. That year engine is a solid performer my only concern is the care the engine got from the previous owner.

It was a guide boat so I’m sure the engine was well maintained considering that’s how the guy made his living. It’s a Z520. It’s got some scuffs and chips and faded paint and ripped seats but nothing a little TLC wouldn’t fix.
