    Hyco Lake

Family renting a house on Hyco 9/17-20. First time on the lake. Plan to fish some. Would love any suggestions. Thanks!

Let me know where you’re staying and I’ll come up with a plan for you.

I go to hyco alot, beautiful lake. I haven't really figured it out so cant offer too much advice but there's alot of boat traffic. The fish I have caught were offshore and got them with either c rig or a ned rig, almost all on junebug color baits.

That is great to hear and Im looking forward to seeing peoples including yours reply to some good spots or advise. I launch at the general boat ramp bought a yearly pass and this is my first year so I am looking forward to it being a bit slower after the holidays then. Thank you for the heads up sir.

Larry is correct boat traffic should start to slow down some now. Topwater has been good & offshore stuff producing some good fish.

They want you to pay for the ramps they built a few years ago.

Really enjoyed my weekend at Hyco Lake. They had about 3 inches of rain Thursday which had the water muddy in some of the feeder creeks. I did not have much luck in those areas but caught a few on dark colored baby brush hogs fished Texas rigged around docks. The main lake and northen end had very clear water and I caught is everywhere I fished. Mostly on a square bill in sexy shad. Look forward to returning one day!

Duke power told the lake authorities some time ago to go up on launch fees. I figured to assist in paying for the coal ash problems they had.
