    thrust washer check for yamaha

    1996 yamaha pro v 200hp
been running a flor torque kit on a merc trophy plus and that works fine.

bought a 25M (believed to be a yamaha 25 m?), and what I thought was the correct thrust washer. The prop sticks out quite a ways from lower unit housing? I think the thrust washer could be tapped in further but am afraid it wont come back out if I do that??
With the flo-torque thrust washer, the props is inside the housing and looks more normal. BUT, we'd need to stack some washers under the castle nut?
    Help!

That is the correct thrust washer. Looks like you did not take off the mercury thrust washer first. Check and see if you have two thrust washers on your shaft

Do you have the Yamaha thrust washer on backwards?

We took the flo torque washer off. tI tried the washer both ways. the other way its way out further yet as the washer is beveled.

Just checked the backside of the prop. Looks like its had a spacer attatched/welded to it thats not allowing it to seat on the yamaha thrust washer? will post a pic and let you tell me if thats factory or not.

That is 1/2 of the newer 2 piece thrust washer... That needs to come off and use your yamaha thrust washer.
