    New washing machine

Washing machine went out Monday evening. Won't bother you with details but several hic-ups getting new and correct one installed this morning. 4 days without was bad............wife not happy. I am thinking a good washing machine is second to only to A/C for cooling as best invention in the modern era.
Sure is nice being back in good graces!!!!LOL

Hope it wasn’t a Samsung, you’ll be without soon.

And built for 25 years service. Had mine for about two months now and they are solid.

I would suggest staying away from the front loaders. I’ve had a lot of trouble with ours.

Not true. You will probably get a couple of years out of a Samsung front loader before the tub rotor disintegrates.

Of course a Samsung top loader lasts longer before the drum tries to come through the side of the machine.

LG are popular here, and delivered on motorbikes! I took this pic about a year ago.

Another vote for Speed Queen here. We've had our washing machine for 5+ years and it has been great. It's the old mechanical dial model, no bells and whistles, it's simple quality built and does its job.

We've been trying to get a new one from Costco for weeks now, been one of the worse purchasing experiences we've ever had. I think after this we are cancelling our membership and our credit card. Something has changed with them and it's not for the better.

Same here. Nothing fancy about them. No high tech touch screens or voice activated anything. They just wash and dry clothes. They've been flawless so far.

We had to get a new set several years ago. I can tell you before buying the Whirlpool Cabrio look up all the problems with them. I would not even sell the washing machine, it was that bad. Clothes come out with soap stains, towels still folded like they were when they went in etc... Now I know those are fairly common issues. Buy one with an agitator or a front load. My wife doesn't like the agitators because she says they ruin her clothes. We went back to a front load, so far the LG replacement has been great.

I prefer to buy American Made stuff and have had several great Whirlpool products, they just didn't think out the Cabrio series. My wife demands one she can put a king size comforter in which left out most of the Speed Queen line.

Agree 100%. The cabrios are what we just replaced after 2 years. Terrible machine and the lid has a known issue that cracks at the hinge causing the machine to shut off mid cycle. And the clothes didn’t even get clean!!

Good timing as it looks like I may be needing one as well.

Speed Queen is getting a lot of votes, which model?

Any other advice on a good washer and dryer?
