    Fished the Illinois River Yesterday

North wind pushed us perfectly down the river yesterday.
    Cloudy and low humidity.
Fished top water most all the day with good success.
Friend caught the biggest ones, 3 lb smallie and 3 lb largie.
Started at dawn in the fog and finished at 2.
    Good day on a river.
I love my Jackson Bite Angler Kayak.
Comfortable seat for all day fishing.
Stable, handles well and floats over the shallow riffles.
Need a few more floats before old man winter gets here.

I grew up in Tahlequah and grandpa would take me to float the river before it was cool to float it. Caught lots of smallmouth and best of all are the memories. Haven’t been in way too many years. Need to go back.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.

Weekdays are best-no idiots. Weekends early below the Putin’s by the commercial floats.
It is nice and peaceful to be on the water tossing top waters.
