Smartcraft on 2000 Optimax

I've searched the posted, read the stickies, but it seems hard to find a good answer.

Will a Smartcraft Tach work on my 2000 Optimax with the correct harness to the motor?

I don't think Vessel View will work with a 2000.

The searches get messed up with NMEA 2000 and so many other things I just can't find the answer on here...

There ya go, thanks... Being a 2000 model year, searches kept crossing with NMEA 2000 etc. so I just needed the straight answer...

So while working on the outboard last night, reviewing the factory manual and looking at the motor, I see this listed as "Smartcraft connection" or something like that in the manual. Being the motor is a 2000 (originally) with a factory 2006 powerhead replacement, is this the Smartcraft connection and could I use it or is it just wasted connectors and cables? Or am I just completely wrong on this?

Well that is a whole different animal!. It is a combination and more information will be needed. Was it a 2000 powerhead bought in 2006 or a fully dressed 2006?

It has a quicksilver remanufactured tag on it. Pretty sure it was a short block but not 100% as I've only owned the boat for about 5 months now. I say short block because the head bolts all have paint off of them, but that's only an assumption. Here is a pic of the ECU if that helps any. And here is the best pic of the quicksilver tag I have right now. I can get a better one tonight at home.

Not Smartcraft Compatible. The wiring is there, but your PCM pre-dates the first PCM that could support Smartcraft-Compatible calibrations.
