    Spook rod

What are you using for spooks with braid? Under $150 preferably.

Are you using a full sized super spook here or a JR?

Powell Endurance 755CB...throws a full size spook about two miles if the reel is setup right. Good backbone for hooksets a long way out and the mod. fast action keeps them pinned.

Hammer Rods 6'9" Heavy is a great super spook rod and with the BBC10 discount code, is under $150 shipped. Made in the US too if that matters to you... The 69H fishes more like a strong MH and that super spook is a shade under 1 oz. This rod loads deeper into the blank than a lot of other similar rods so not only will it launch those baits, that deeper flex helps keep the fish pinned.

7’ MH-F Carbonlite 2.0, don’t laugh! I use a med/fast for the super spook jr and while it’s a versatile rod it’s my favorite topwater rod!

You want a awesome cheap spook rod the bps crankin stick 7’3 heavy rated to 2 oz is perfect for big walking / prop baits if you’re ok with the length. Normal price is 79.99 but if you watch the website you can get it for 60$

A Powell Endurance, or any other line, 705CB works well. Sportsman's has them for $119 right now in the 3D lineup.

A great walking bait rod thatI got introduced to is the Dobyns Colt Series 734 -I think it retails at $79.99 and while onpaper the 734 says H action - the blanks have some glass in them and the rod loads great with a topwater. I throw walking baits in both size - spooks, vixen, kicknocker, sexy dawg etc... 30-40# braid and sometimes a mono leader - these rods are great.

If you can find one on the auction sites ect. The old All Star Zell Rowland TWS is about as good as it gets. They bring silly money but under $ 150.

I like the 6’9” Daiwa elite skip and jig rod. Has good power if a fish gets it after a long cast but has a great tip. I’m also fishing a bigger walking bait with heavy hook. It has worked for me.
