98 Mercury 175EFI. Is there supposed to be a fuel line attached to this fitting? Its above the fuel/water separator. I need to take it in for service anyways but just wondering.

I found the rubber gasket that is on the back of the engine loose. It's where the water pees out and the fitting is for flushing the engine. If water gets in the cowl from there what damage can it do? And can water get inside the hull from inside the cowl and thru the rigging tube? I've noticed some water in the bilge. Plus when running wot the other day it just suddenly lost power and came off plane. It never shut completely off but something is wrong.

I just noticed that where the water pees out of... that rubber gasket thing is close to the waters edge when idling around and it was loose and not sealed to the cowl. Im sure some water was getting in there. But I dont know why it just suddenly throttled down on its own.
