    Rod length storage for 285 XL

    I’m looking at older - 2000 on - 285 XL ‘a and have seen that yoU can store a 7 ft rod in the box. Is this the real world max? I have a bunch of 7’2” to 7’6” and was wondering if 7 ft is the true max length? Thanks

    I have 3 7'11" rods in the lockers of my 2009 285 Pro XL.

    If its the same hull. Hope someone with that knowledge will be around to answer. I will say that I did remove the factory rod tubes.
