Weed ring on 2011 E200 HVLIIA?

I want to use my 4 blade trophy plus 25" on m 2011 200HO ETEC, which weed ring do I need? 126669 or 350626
I believe I have an M2 gearcase?

Not sure if you would have the same issue on a 200HO, but I had VERY BAD luck running a weed ring on a 2012 ETEC 150HO. This was on a L2 gearcase. The weed ring held in so much heat that it would melt my hub. The second time around it got so hot it bent my prop shaft! You can ask Eddie Pope (gearcaseman), it wasn't pretty. He tore it apart and rebuilt it for me.

is there a maximum propr diameter when a weed ring is used? my new to me used lower unit has one. i usually run 15" or 15.5" diameter props so i was going to remove it on the assumption it was not needed.

Dave, prop diameter is not normally a concern as to using a weed ring. Most of us need them on 4 blades due to the dia of the prop barrel allowing to much exhaust out.

I was running a 23 Trophy Plus with the press on weed ring made by Mercury. Flo-Torq hub kit. It's such a snug fit, exhaust gas can't escape over the prop, only thru.

Well, there is your answer then. Different weed ring than Evinrude and the Flo-Torq hub kit could have caused the prop shaft issue. Thats why I run the Michigan Wheel Hub kit #200.

I was melting BRP hubs with a Renegade bass and weed ring as well. All my problems went away when I started running large barrel props and drilled cooling water inlets on the bottom of my L2.

Thats a known issue with the pressed in hub and the Etec's.

It wasn't a pressed in hub. I had a Renegade with the removable hard plastic hub. They are pretty rare, but I had one.
