    Front Seat height seat movement

looking for general length i need to buy to get the front seat up out of my view. Got to fish 3 days last weekend and caught myself leaning to the right to see around the front seat of my 175txw not to mention the pain in my knee. Thinking the seat needs to go up at least 12+ inches.

Has anyone moved the base the seat pedestal screws into? I'm 5'10" and had to remove my front seat to stand and fish thinking it need to move back 8"

When I used the stock seat I removed it from the pedestal and placed it in the base on the floor when I motored from spot to spot. I changed over to a butt seat on a tall pedestal for two reasons: (1) I like to stand while casting and the butt seat stabilizes me while using the trolling motor (I just lean against it), and (2) no need to remove the butt seat when running the outboard since it's above my line of sight.

You're probably right about the stock seat needing to come up 12" but then it probably be too high to sit on.
