I'm dating myself but there used to be a pliers holder on almost every bass boat that when you put the pliers in it they entered opened rather than closed. It was black with a white and red sticker and you could screw it in to your boat of use a strong two way tape to mount it. I can't seem to find them anywhere but I don't remember the name of them either .
Any idea what the name is or where I can get two of them?
I always had them as well. I don't believe they are made anymore but I really liked them.

I believe I have what you are looking for on my front pedestal seat post, has Ranger logo in red. Holder is black.
