    250 PRO XS POWER ISSUE

    MM SER# 2B008910
I have a 2013 250 pro xs. While running at fairly high speed, it seems to loose power. Feels like it bogs down a bit, then will kick back in. Could it be a fuel issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check your fuel, lines from tank to engine. They collapse on the inside and restrict fuel flow.

I would perform a spark test, or a cylinder drop test.

I thought about the plugs. They’ve never been changed.

I think that would be an excellent place to start...

Gator there are several excellent maintenance topics in the FAQ, also, please review the Announcement at top of forum and provide engine serial number (required when posting).

Need to also test the fuel and air pressures @WOT when the problem is occurring. Perform spark test and record the fuel and air pressures, and report back with the results.

I have a 08. I chased ghost issues and swapped out about everything ( from another motor) finally did injectors and fuel rail maintence and its running like new. Not saying it's your issue but sure was mine. Don says every 400 hrs mine had 600

All of the advice above applies as possibilities; however, I had a very similar incident on Saturday and after changing spark plugs, I ran the boat today and problem was not present; so that "seems" to have corrected it. I'm in the high 300 hour range and it was a bit past time to change the plugs so I started there as an easy, lower cost effort. As several posters indicated above, this is a good place to start and seems to have corrected my issue.

Hopefully works for as well. I’ll find out next weekend.

Wow. I'm with Savage... start with the overdue (recommended) ANNUAL Maintenance items.

If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info (serial number) when posting. Thanks!
