    Question Triton TR200 Speed /Hotfoot

I have a 2007 Tr200 with a 225 Mercury. I top out at 5900-6200 rpms and around 63 mph. I would think it would been faster can I raise the jack plate up or adjust the hotfoot and change prop?

That is about all ur gonna get out of her with the 225 on it. Heavy boat. Had that exact boat and motor for 10 yrs. I was always messing with it to see if I could get more speed. Wasn’t happening. It didn’t have much for speed, but damn that thing rode nice and built like a tank. There’s times I miss that ol boat.

If you are turning that much it sounds like you are bumping the limiter, especially in cooler weather. Fastest prop on that hull will be a 24 or 25 tempest. Motor height and prop will be tour setup keys, don’t adjust the throttle unless you known what you’re doing and you determine it needs it.

What if I put a 250 on it maybe get another 7-10 mph out of it?

Your tachometer is NOT reading correctly. There is no way that the motor turned 6200 RPM's, without the rev limiter and alarm going off.

If it had a 250 on it and it was propped and set up right, yes, it would push it into the upper 60’s, maybe even touch 70.
