    XS V8 with tempest prop

Anyone run a 25 Temp + on there 250 xs v8 with some numbers to show? Got a 25 stock to try along with a 23 tempest and a 23 fury with cup added I am to try tomorrow. Hoping I can turn the 25 tempest higher with some decent rpms on my 721

Just posted some numbers up top. The 25 hit rev limiter at 6240 @ 69. Don't get it...............

Hard to say sometimes with a Tempest as they are not always true right out of the box. Meaning a 25 might be more like a 24 or even a 26 straight out of the box.

well mine ended up being more like a 23! lol I do not know what to spend the time and money on the tempest or the fury cause the tempest was peppy and took a little to figure out on hole shot but was pretty decent. Just felt like I should have more topend with tempest over the fury but It would have to be worked and cupped I assume to knock back those rpms

i've got a 2020 721 with the XS V8. I emailed Mark Croxton a while back about the best prop. He came back and said the 24 Fury is the best prop for that setup. I've done business with Mark since around 2004. He's always been a straight shooter. But, he did some amazing work for me on a 26 Tempest for my old Triton TR-20. I was always a fan of the Tempest prop once it was blue printed and balanced. I'm like you and been wanting to try a Tempest. My Fury 24 is exactly like yours and I'm getting roughly 5950 RPM's max right now.

Ive gotten 5990 so far and that was just me in the heat but very loaded. I just felt playing with the slip calculator that a 25 with around 6150 with decent slip would be more than 74/75. I assume in cooler air we should see over 6k a little but i dont know cause you cannot run the fury high like the tempset. I could run a 201 hull and 26 tempest to 6k and some change to 78 on a warm day
