    Question Spinning Reel Suggestions?

Recently I have noticed that I have been using almost exclusively baitcasting gear and I think it is because most of my spinning gear is lower quality gear than my baitcasting. Anyone have any suggestions on a good all around spinning reel in the 100 to 120$ range?

I was eyeing up the Lew's spinning reels in this range in the 300 size. Any other suggestions before I pull the trigger?

I like the Daiwa BG and Penn Battle II/III in that range.

X2 on the fuego. Put one on a Dobyns fury medium fast and it's been a fantastic senko/finess not so expensive set up

Daiwa BG. I've got several of them and they're incredible. I also have a Tatula LT and actually like my BGs more than the Tatula for whatever that's worth! My issue with the Fuego at that price point is frame flex. That may have been corrected with a more recent version? Not sure on that.

What size Diawa BG would be a good all around size? The 2500 or 3000? From what I have read they run a bit big. I will likely put it on a 6'5" or 7' medium rod.

I only use daiwa spinning reels, but i would not recommend a fuego LT. Waaay too much frame flex. Get the BG in a 2500

If weight is an issue, Fuego LT. If weight doesn't matter, Daiwa BG.

If you use braid, I'd look at the 2000.

I fish spinning more than most, only because of the smallmouth fishing I do. I own Pflueger Patriarch XT's, Shimano Stradic Ci4+'s, and Daiwa Tatula LT's, so I am not "partial" to any. All are very nice reels. If i had $150 to spend, I'd probably find a new Pflueger Patriarch, or Patriarch XT at a deal out there. You can find them in the $150 range if you shop. Or, get a Daiwa Tatula LT for the $150 range, if you shop price.

They are a little bigger than Shimanos of the same class. I run the 2500s and think they're perfect.

I'm running a pair of 3000 BGs, the rest of my spinning reels are 2500s. The 3000 BG has excellent line management, is friction-free and has a terrific drag. Only b#$%h? - I hold it between the ring and pinkie, and wish it sat a little farther forward, as I'll drop the line sometimes (could also be stupid XXL fingers or banged up nerves). FWIW, using mostly for DS and Ned.

Or splurge and get the President XT. The cork handle alone makes it worth the extra $20.

I'm waiting on the Shimano Vanford (I really wish they would rename it).

Ain't no love for the Quantum SMOKE 25 or 30 size reels... they are super light, great drag, and smooth as butter.
Probably be able to get a couple for the price he mentioned up above
