    Staying on pad 1980.

    Hello all,

I was wondering if any other 1980 owners have an issue with getting on pad and keeping it on pad. I have to constantly trim down to slowly raise it to get on pad and then all the sudden I can feel it loose pad and slows down. I have had this issue since the get go with my 1980 with the merc 150 proxs on the back.

I was thinking maybe a prop issue however I cannot see any damage to it, anyone else have any thought?

To turn a phrase from Dory, "Just keep trimmin, just keep trimmin'

No issues on my 1880. How slow or fast are you trying to go? I won't get on plane until about 20-22 mph, but don't feel it really start to lift until like 40.

It's all in the trimming, and boat speed. Keep an eye on the boat spray, when the water is spraying out to the sides behind you, and your bow is staying fixed and steady, you're in the sweet spot.
