175 EFI, Complete Rebuild, Advice & Tips Please

Looking for all the advice I can get as I do a total rebuild on my 99 Merc 175 EFI (OG947018).

For one thing, I read about a module to remove and re-time engine but can't find that post again.

Any other advise along the way is greatly appreciated. Won't be running the motor till spring 2021 (winter project). Heads getting shaved & Mid getting cut, both are already at CHAPMAN RACING for work.

Injectors going to Don's for cleaning and flow, new EFI pump for VST, probably looking at a new Stator and Regulator too, couple of bobbins look like toast

    Thanks
    Gary

Change the steel reeds. Don or Jay Smith has the TDR reeds.

It’s the stabalizer module you are talking about. I think the motor you have it can be removed but once they changed to CDM ignition, the stabalizer was integrated into the control module and can no longer be removed.

Thx, I think I'll give Don a call and see what he thinks on the modules. I do remember reading that there was one box to remove and motor needs to have timing reset but I'm like RCHAVIS right now........my brain went blank......

    Update: found the page,
    Detonation Controller/Idle Stabilizer Removal info
    http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=277425

If I'm correct my EFI motor doesn't have the Idle Stabilizer, only the Detonation Control Module ?????
