Pro Team 190 Tournament vs. 195 Tournament vs. others...

My buddy is looking at a new boat to replace his Pro Team 175 from 2008. His options are the following and I would love to be able to share some pros and cons from folks who have or know folds with the following models:

    Pro Team 190 Tournament Edition
    Pro Team 195 Tournament Edition
    Ranger RT188P
    Vexus AVX1880

We mostly take his boat (the Tracker) to the 1000 Islands in NY annually, then options like Cayuga, Oneida, etc. (within two hours of our local area). Nearby lakes would include Lake Wallenpaupack, Beltzville, etc.

I am asking for him for the following reasons:

    1. Best bang for the buck
    2. Performance
    3. Reliability
    4. Storage/layout
    5. Options

He is very happy with his current Tracker but wants to upgrade so I thought I would post here for him and pass him the link to see the results. Thanks for any/all help and best wishes on the water!

I’m not a big fan of the rangers on rougher waters. The 190 and 195 are amazing and very comfortable. I haven’t rode in a Vexus but I hear great things about them. If it were me, I would go as big as you can for the money. 195 or 1880 for me.

How much different is the 190 versus the 195? What are the benefits of each?

You will get a slightly wider boat with a larger engine option. Otherwise, they are basically the same boat.

The 195 is a much bigger boat. Beam on the 190 is still 89" iirc and the 195 is 98" iirc (give or take an inch). To me the 190 doesn't really feel much different from the 175 with the exception of the front deck being a little longer. This is why I went with the 175txw instead of paying more for the 190. Now, when I crawled around the 195 right after it came out that thing was HUGE. It's the same length as the 190 I think but the width puts it in a whole different class being a true wide body.

I wouldn't consider the Ranger because of the rough ride I've heard they have. The Vexus seems to be a really nice rig. For me it would be between the Tracker 195 vs the Vexus 1880 and buy the one that checks off the most boxes on the list of must-haves. From a value perspective the Tracker 195 would be tough to beat.

Treat others like you want to be treated when on the water EVEN WHEN IN A TOURNAMENT! No fish is worth having a confrontation because you cut someone off or came in on top of someone.

The 190 is just a 175 that has a foot longer front deck and is rated for a 115 HP. The 195 is quite a bit larger than the 190 and is rated for a 150 HP motor.

    I own a 195 and I use a 190 when I visit my family in Florida.

The 195 seems to have a lot more room in it and is much more stable at rest. Of course the 195 is faster with the larger engine but the 190 is more agile and handles like a sports car. The layout is the same but at least in the 2016-2017 models the front compartments on the 195 are deeper. Sitting in the seats you feel like you are sitting on a 190 but you feel like you are sitting in a 195. The 190 will fit easily in most garage doors but it is a tight fit with some doors with the 195.

Fuel tank is bigger in the 195 but I wish my boat had a smaller fuel tank to be honest.
