Has anyone installed a keel shield on an AVX boat. My 1880 is finally shipping next week. I want to get a Keel Shield ordered if they work..

Straight from Gator Guard guys! I just ordered one!
The photos were sent to me by Gator Guard to show that they in fact do fit and are recommended by Vexus.

    “Thanks for asking!

Yes sir, a KeelShield works great on all the Vexus hulls - our KeelShield is flexible enough to mold around that small weld. Keith Daffron actually recommends our KeelShield if you need a keel protector for the aluminum vexus. As you've probably seen - proper prep is KEY as with any adhesive product.

I see you already found the aluminum hull blog? Give that a good read and you'll be ready to go.

Attached are a couple Vexus customer pics for you to take a look at if you'd like.

Here to help with any more Questions you may have!”

I put one on my 1880 about a week ago. 2 trips out and it still there.

Interesting..........How much prep did you have to do?

Not as much as I thought I would. I followed the instructions to scuff the surface and clean it well with isopropyl alcohol. I think the best suggestion is leave the shield in the sun for a bit before installing. It makes it easier to work around that weld.

That’s the $100.00 question. I ordered the 8 ft for my 1880. I’d rather be a little long than too short. I can also cut it down if needed.

Yeah, I agree. I don't want to be too short, but also don't want to spend the extra money if I don't need to.

How many time have you been out with it and has it continued to hold on well?
