    Trim rivets

I am looking to replace the carpet on a 98 cobra that has riveted on carpet trim. Is drilling out each one going to be my best bet for removal? Should i rivet it back on or go to a SS screw? I am leaning towards screws so it can be removed much easier if it has to come off again.

Drill the rivets out and punch them thru. If you have a Compressor, go to Harbor Freight and purchase the Air Riveter Tool. Make you job 100 times easier and the Rivets will set better.

Drill they out, 1/8" bit, or 9/64th will take them all the way out, but may be a bit sloppy when putting the new ones in. 1/8" with an aluminum mandrel, don't use SS mandrels. You can pop a 1/8" easy with a hand tool, no need for an expensive pneumatic.,

And, get rivets with a 1/2" reach, it's the only way to go.
