Grout-Scout is right. Need to get max rpms first. Think of it as a baseline before you start messing around with other stuff.

Last week with the 25 TP, I was at approx 5500 rpm and 64mph. I've already swapped the prop, so next trip out I'll see how it performs. I'm not shooting for peak performance per say... just saw a good deal on the 26 and went for it. I've not had a spare prop to this point, so which ever prop performs best I'll stick with it and keep the other for a spare. My expectation is the 26 will be better.

My other issue is I don't have a jackplate gauge on my hydraulic jackplate. I fish a shallow lake a lot and always raising it up to the highest point, so when I get back on an open lake, I really don't know where I am. I need to put a mark on the plate for the proper PTP measurement.

Prob, they also sale a wedge cut washer, so that your bolts will have a straight line pull.

The gauge sucks, and they never live long.
Find your right height and use a heavy marker on the plate. There fixed.

No, between the wedge and the lock washer I believe.

I marked 3.5" PTP... should be a good starting point.

So I made it out to the lake today to test out the 26P and the trim extenders... it's a whole new animal... I can't believe how much better it runs and how much lift I was getting. I gained an additional 5 mph. Had a perfect rooster tail just a little over the top of the cowling. I basically had no rooster tail before.

Unfortunately I was on Lake Conroe, so I couldn't really get it aired out properly to get good numbers... rough as usual. I had one good run and had to come off it pretty quick.

Did you run the extenders with the original prop too or just the new prop? Lots going on in this thread, you ran 69 today?

I only ran the trim extenders with the 26TP. Before I hit the extended trim range, I could definitely tell a difference in lift going from the 25 to the 26. The 26 is balanced, blueprinted, and had some cup added. The added trim range was icing on the cake. Also increased rpms

I was at 69 and slowly climbing when I had to get out of it. I felt like 71 was a real possibility. Just me, gear, empty livewells and 1/4 tank of gas. I may need to lower the jackplate down slightly, when I got up to that speed is was a little squirrely... I need to get on some smoother water to get it dialed in. Conroe is like a washing machine due to boat traffic, wind, and bulk heads throwing waves every direction imaginable.

If it getting squirrely at top end rise the jackplate 1/4" at a time. Had exact same deal and reached 71.

Load the boat like you are going to use it. Fuel, gear, livewells, fishing partner.......Then run it. It makes a difference. If you are running 70-71 with a load...
