    Overheat Alarm

    Model E225DHLSCM. Ser # 05209034

Been having intermittent overheat alarm going off with light going on. But it didn’t seem to be overheating, so slowing down to an idle, waiting 30 seconds or so, the alarm would clear and off I’d go. Son has boat today and says alarm going off and staying on. Water pressure is fine, new thermostats last year. Where should I start looking until I can get a guy who has the diagnostic program?
    Thanks.

Jim take off the water intake screens and check for anything inside.

May want to try and hooking up the hose and back flushing..

Get an infrared temp gun and check your head temps..shouldn't be over 145*F when the T stats open. If higher check Tstats. The temp switch will come out, my have to do a bit of prying on the rubber but will come out. You can unhook it also to see if it is a false alarm.

I did do both of those things. I have a local guy, who has been to factory training, taking a look next week. He suggested a look to make sure I didn’t mess up the tube and pump kit when I did it last year. So we will.

Water pressure being "fine" does not help us at all.

What are the 1000 rpm increments plus idle and WOT readings?

I had trouble with my L1 as well when it was on the motor. WP in some area's like here (lots of shallow water) can go bad pretty quick.

Water pressure appears the same as it always has. Not sure on increments sitting here, but 13-15 running over 4500 RPM and think 3-4 idling.

That's not bad. Sounds like you have something else going on.

Just to update. I had bassmeister in my boat for 2 days last week and the alarm went off a couple times. He feels that the water pressure is too low and perhaps tube not into grommet. Boat getting new pump kit today.
Note: yes, he lives in Georgia and I live in New Hampshire, so we met in Maine...

Is that all you could stand? Did he bring his laptop and hook up to your motor?
