    Mega bass jerkbait

    Where do you start?
vision 110, +1, +2, 110 jr, x80? Fishing table rock lake in mo. Deep and clear.
They are pricey so what would you start with?

thanks in advance for your input.

You need several of each. You will end up buying them eventually so you might as well buy them now so you can have them for your trip. I only bought one to try on lake Champlain, I ended ordering 12 more before my trip was over. I use the 110 and 110+1 the most.

I throw the 110s and the 110 +1 mostly in the winter. If the water temp is above 55 im throwing a jackall rerange. That rerange is easier to cast and it better when ripping hard when the fish are more aggressive. The 110s come out once Im fishing the bait slower.

Add the Megabass Ito Shiner to that list. Many times it's just flat out better than the skinny 110's. And it casts better. Although both listed at .5 oz, 110's are 0.46 oz and Ito Shiner 0.56 oz.
    Leave off the 110 Jr.

Thanks for the replies. Figured I’d pick up a handful to start but wanted some direction on which was to go. Several different jerkbaits to choose from.

I fish TR in the winter and spring. I would recommend 5 colors (Pro Blue, Elegy Bone, HT-ITO Wakasagi, Mat Black Shad, and French Pearl). I have all in 110 and 110 +1
This should cover your needs, and you don't need all 5.

Another TR fisher here, to add to Dwiebenga's list, I would add Stain Reaction/orange belly. I know a guide on TR that loves that color.

I'm a 110 guy....I'd strong suggest changing hooks to Gamakatsu G Nano's (size 5) and hyperwire split rings (size 2). Had many a stock hook straighten out on me.

Thanks for the info. I was watching a video the other day where they said the older models they suggested this but they have now changed to a better stock hook and changing was not necessary any longer?? Any idea if this is true?

    Don't over think it.
    Get 1
    110, 110+1 and a +2 in your favorite colors.
Don't worry about hooks. Get some confidence in them and go from there.

Stock hooks will straighten, but work well and are sharp. I didn't have nay problem with stock hooks on this one.

I’ve landed a 10+ in Florida on a 110, 8lb CXX, Carbonlite 2.0 med-fast. With the drag set correctly those hooks will grab ahold of just about anything that nips at that lure! I have only bent hooks on small fish, the 1-2 pounders, never on the bigger 5+ fish.

The +1s don’t exactly have a place for me in Florida ! Mark Perry will tell you exactly what color to use, and has many times. You can search his name and he has probably answered more “what color” questions about the 110s than anyone.

I want to try the Jackalls, haven’t had a chance to yet.

ReRange is great, but unsettling at first with the snap of the internal weight system. Sounds like you snapped rod or line

Ain't that the truth. I keep thinking it's going to snap the bait into.

Wish you guys would stop talking about the Reranges....

Since you brought it up, I have a couple MB 110s that I rarely throw because I feel like the Rerange is a better bait. Add to this that the stock hooks are incredible and they don’t break easily ether. There. I said it. Now I’m not saying any more!

    Like them alot.

Jackall has a new one called a Revolt, or RV Minnow.

It was introduced overseas in May. I like it every bit as much as, or better than the Rerange.

    Damn it....

Does it have the same weight transfer system? As others said, it's unnerving, but it casts like a frickin' bullet.
