    Rough river?

I have never fished rough river before. I have a tournament in mid September. When do they normally draw the lake down to winter pool? Any other info about the lake that time of year would be great.
    Thanks

I believe they start drawing down to winter pool October 1. Fishing in September can be extremely tough. I’ve had my best luck running way up the north or south fork

They start a slow pull the middle of Sept.
depending on rain it drop 2ft up until
Middle to end of Oct.then they start the
    hard pull to winter pool.

Oct 15th is the start of drawdown. Don’t expect a big bag in September. Steep banks and bluffs make up a lot of the lake.

This^...October 15 is when the main draw down starts but September 15 til October 15 there is a very slow 2 ft draw down. 3 of the 4 lakes in the Green River Watershed actually do this (Barren, Rough, Nolin). The 4th lake in the watershed is Green and its scheduled to start its draw-down November 15....now the key word is "scheduled". There is multiple factors that can effect the schedule so it really a tentative schedule.
