    90 hp fuel issue?

I have a 2006 90hp 2 stroke on a Kenner tunnel. The engine runs great with a full tank of fuel when you start getting down to 5/8 tank it falls on its face and someone has to pump the bulb to go anywhere. I have replaced the fuel lines, filters and bulb. Would it be the fuel pump on the engine or maybe anti syphon in the tank? I am puzzled how that little difference in fuel level makes such a difference in the engine.

    Thanks

That would make a lot of sense.

My son pulled the pickup tube today and there were no signs of a leak or crack. The anti-siphon valve was badly corroded and is being replaced.
