    Big Sandy Lake

Anyone have any information about the fishing on this lake? Our group has to leave Lake Vermilion a day early and will be fishing Mille Lacs on Friday, but need a good bass lake to fish on Thursday.
We will be there the first week of June 2021. We drove by Big Sandy this year and it looked interesting. We will be in bass boats so we need a lake with a good ramp if there are better options. Also, a good place to stay close to Mille Lacs.

    Thanks

i wouldn't bother - way better places to fish for bass than BS. I fished a tournament there a couple years ago and only 3 teams out of 25 had a limit - 17 teams zeroed, and these are all good fisherman.

Thanks guys. Everything I could find about Big Sandy suggested the bass fishing wasn’ttoo good. Any particular lake aroundGrand Rapids you can recommend?

Ya Big Sandy is brutal I wouldn’t waste your time. Pokegama in Grand Rapids is a pretty popular and solid fishery. Don’t hesitate to try some smaller lakes too. There are some hidden gems that get little to no pressure.

Deer Lake, Pokegama, Trout, hard to find a bad lake near Grand Rapids, Big Sandy is the exception, most lakes are pretty good

It’s a neat looking lake as far as bass, but... crappies, walleyes and pike.

The lake needs musky stocking; it would/could be a great lake.
