    Cliff,looking at the second pic that you posted,it looks like the trim motor wire is broken right at the top of the tilt ram. Check that.

    Either power/ground supply to the relays, or a bad relay. Replace BOTH relays (at the same time) and see what happens.

    No, it's just how it looks in the pic. That wire is OK and the trim motor works.

    I'm going to get new trim relays and replace them both at the same time. I've been told that they are wired in series and if one is bad, neither one will work.

    Took boat to shop today and mechanic replaced both trim relays and that's all it took. $90 repair bill. He said the trim switch on the outboard and the trim switch on the shift lever are sealed Mercury switches, but the ones on the bow panel are installed by the boat manufacturer and are almost never sealed switches. If it's a toggle switch, you can install a rubber boot over the connector, but if it's a rocker switch like on my Procraft, there's not a real good way to waterproof it.
