    1998 EFI stator has one bunrt bobbin/winding.

    SN#0G607556 1998 200 efi has one burnt set of windings, what would cause this?

    Thanks for the reply. The boat runs pretty smooth on plane, but don`t have the power it should. At low RPM runs really ruff and smokes alot.
    I looked the motor over and noticed the stator did not look good. (burnt). Would this cause the motor to run this way?

    both regs please if they are the older style without grnd wire id replace um rat now with new stator with only oem parts yep thats what id do

    Took a while to the regulators, back ordered from Mercury.
    Changed out the stator and a pair of regulators, ran the boat yesturday, motors run great now.
