Javelin Renegade 20 Hydraulic Jack Plate Question

I have a Renegade 20 with a Johnson 225 HO and currently have a 6in manual jack plate and I normally run a 4 blade 23p Renegade prop but also have a 4 blade 25p Renegade. I would like to put a hydraulic jack plate on and was wondering which size I should look to get. Should I stick with the 6in size or go up to a 8 or 10?

The boat usually runs fairly heavy with a tournament load, 2 Talons, live-wells, gear, partner etc. Not something I have much experience with so just weighing my options as to what to look for. Would like to be able to improve my hole shot and help gain more control in some rougher water.

6 would have the best hole shot 8 might give you a touch more top end on that hull. That 25 should be what you run. 225 might could could turn a 26 light in the cool parts of the year but a 23 is way small. Thats a 71-72 mp boat with the 25 at 2.75 under pad.

OP, I've had my 2000 R20 since new. I run a 200 HO and turn a 26 Trophy no problem. 1st thing you need to do is get a 26 Trophy and a Michigan Wheel #200 hub kit. You should be around 3'' PTP.
Trust me on this, I used to run Renegades until I started trying the larger diameter props and found they are much better with our rigs.
I have one PP and can turn the 26 Trophy to 5900 tnx loaded. I also have a 25 Trophy but don't use it much anymore since the 26 spins well. She's a 73 MPH boat in cool weather, 70-71 in the summer. You should be mid 70s with your rig if you get it set right. I run a manual 6'' JP.
Take a trip out here to the Upper Chesapeake and we will get you set up.

225 HO in the heat down here struggles with a 26 on that hull. Maybe in the cool yall can do it. Not here. not unless you are real light. If you run heavy with two guys you would'nt get away with it IMO.
