    With a 14 inch jack plate , I had good all around use with a 27 trophy on a 225 pro xs .

    1" to 1/2" below pad and work from there, but with a standard lower, can't get it very high, you will loose water pressure

    Simply put the 20XD needs a sportmaster. Speed and handling will suffer with the motor set low enough to maintain water pressure. If using a 12 inch jp, I would guess 1.5 to 2 inches below pad. No clue on a prop.

    I ran a 225 pro xs for awhile. Plug the top 3 holes on the lower unit. 1/2 below the pad. Watch water pressure on the turns. You really need a sportmaster or a good cone added to your lower. 27 trophy below the pad but it will throw a blade if you raise it above the pad. Try a hydromotive 26 - 27 xob 4 blade.

    same thing for my old one... 27 promax 1/2 - 3/4" below
