    Braid clippers.

Tried several and never found what I expected. Finally stumbled upon a pair of Fiskars(sp) that I liked but they became dull. Lucked out and bought a pair of Super Line Scissors (by Rapala) at WallyWorld that even makes a clean cut on limp braid. Shelled out a whopping $2.96. I admit I went back and got 2 more pair for when these get dull. I was shocked. Might want to give them a try if you are in the market.

I have a couple of the Boomerang Long snip line cutters that work great. I also just bought one of the flat mount Line Cutterz and that thing will slice through braid very easily, but I find it fairly difficult to cut all the way to the line tie, so I use the Boomerang for that.

I agree with Jason. The little Cuda scissors are the only ones I've ever found that will cut limp braid for more than a few weeks. Same price as the Fiskars you're talking about and as the Rapalas you found on sale. Cudas probably retail closer to $4, but I bought 5 pairs on Amazon not long ago for $1.97 a piece. The Rapala ones work for a while but become useless for braid in pretty short order. Only complaint with the Cudas is they bounce, so I've lost a few pairs over the side of the boat just dropping them after I cut something.

I've also never shelled out more than $10 for fishing scissors either. I'm sure there are others that work, but no need when I can get 3+ pairs of Cudas for that.

$3.99 at Harbor Freight and will last all season. I have a set in my tools vehicles, and the boat.

Another vote for the Cudas, I used to buy the cheap Rapala scissors, but they get dull after a few weeks of usage. My Cudas that I have had about 6 months now still cut. And the Cudas, IMO, are amazingly inexpensive.

Glad they worked for you. I bought exact pair and they wouldn't cut ANY braid, limp, wet, or taunt.

I use the short Rapala scissors also. I usually loose them or throw them overboard by mistake before they get dull.

I got one of the Berkley line melter thingies. Haven't used it a lot, but it works pretty slick. Dunno how long the battery would last, or the device itself. I'm not generally a fan of Berkley stuff, but have two of their line strippers, and think they're THE SHIZZLE, whatever that is!

I liked my Boomerangs but they did get dull quickly and after leaving them in the boat the blades rusted. They are a little pricey also.
