I don't run a 196 and I don't think you'll find many here that run Rudes but I'd say an Original 24P Raker would be a good choice. May want to have Mark Croxton give it a once over. I ran one on my 201 with 200 Johnny and ran well.

I have the very same year boat and motor. I run a 24p Trophy Plus.
It runs around 64 mph GPS at 5750 rpm, half tank gas and loaded with gear. May not be quite as fast as the Tempest but handles better imo.

    I run a 26 tempest with a 3.3 Yamaha 200 and it’s got a phase kit. 24 or 25 pitch should be good

just my experience with a 2003 Ficht, my mechanic told me they run very hot exhaust and when i would use a Bass Renegade prop, because that prop has a narrower center, the hub would heat higher temp than a prop like a raker and i would have spun hubs in tournaments. then when i'd go with a prop that had a standard diameter center core, i would have no problems Good luck

A blue printed raker will get you in the wheel house 24 Pitch. Believe me.

Hi Pat! Well I finally found my original Raker (14.4 X 24) and man, it looks brand new. My question is; I know you had suggested Croxton to B&B, but do you know anything about Steve’s over by Lake Fork?

Got my Raker back from Steve’s the other day, can’t wait to take it out. I think the guy that worked it was Josh.

I ran a 25 tempest on mine. Low 60’s loaded to fish. Mid 60’s light. Was an 2003 Rude 200 H.O.
